At the Smother's Brother's, were you only able to talk to the intercom at the gate?

I didn't mind talking to intercom's at the door or at a gate. The territory and the homes were usually beautiful.

Once, I worked in a territory where Pat Boone and family lived. (Who had a big hit in 1957 called "April Love". His daughter Debby was later known for her song, "You Light Up My Life"). At every door that answered, it was answered by a maid, dressed in a maid costume. Some of the maids took literature, most said, the lady of the house was not home, come back at another time please.

Grandma's Fried Chicken

one of my favorite memories growing up was to visit my maternal grandmother in san bernardino california and have sunday fried chicken dinners.

i can still remember the smells of her peppery chicken frying in the kitchen and sitting down on their enclosed patio to a meal of mashed potatoes, peas and that best of all her fried chicken.. my grandmother was a special person, loving and generous, one of the early bible students in california.

before my time her home was known for helping the poor during the great depression.. i don't remember the recipe for her delicious chicken, maybe my mother knew and tried to copy it.

My Grandma who lived a mile away didn't cook us fried chicken. She had an apricot tree. Lucious tree ripened apricots. She also grew boysenberries. Umm Warm Boysenberry pie with vanilla ice cream. That was something we would stop at The Clock Restaurant on the way to Palm Springs, to eat.

We had a lemon tree. Bill Scott if you are out there, thank you for picking the lemons at the top of our tree for us. Mom, or me used to always make fresh Lemon Merinigue pie. One time when I was a child of about 6, I had brand new leather shoes on. I was helping to carry plates with fresh lemon merinigue pie to the dining table, and I tripped, and the slice of pie went right on top of my new shoe. Everyone said that was my piece, lol so since they were brand new shoes, I ate some of my piece of pie off of my new shoe and then my mom cleaned my shoe, so my shoes wern't wrecked.

I went on a picnic with a Brother named Ron. I was to bring the food, as he was busy working on his office. I remember I brought fried chicken and a lemon merinigue pie I had made. When it came time to have a slice of pie, I had forgotten to bring a knife, so we used one of his tools, a hack saw to cut the pie. lol I wonder where you are now Ron, and if you ever think of all the laughter, that day.

I haven't made fried chicken, in ages.

Designs, did you ever go to Knott's Berry Farm for their fried chicken dinners? I went with a group decades ago, after a brother with the first name of Rob, gave his first public 1 hour talk. The food was delicious then. I was there a few years ago, and it was a disappointment.

Did anyone from Los Angeles ever go to Dinah's Restaurant, I think on Sepulvada in Culver City? They were famous for their fried chicken dinners.

the article addressed luke 20:34-36 and now they finally admit jesus could have been referring to the heavenly resurrection.

they said "put simply, the answer is that we cannot say" which is surprising because they have something to say about everything.

perhaps all the old people who are waiting the new world as widow and widowers want to know if they have a chance to be reunited with their dead loved one.

The info above ^^^^^ is just another "apparently" "possibly" flip flop, flop flip opinion of some very opinionated men in New York. Period.

Wait a few years. Nothing in JW.org land is written in stone.

But I am curious why are they doing this latest speculation?

Are they doing it to intice a carrot of longing for departed loved ones?

Are they lining up more lonely widows and widowers to stay, mesmerizing them with this nu-lite message which cannot be proven, but the lonely souls keep going, ever faithful, finally with death near, they are easy pickings for the Elder's to swoop in and have them sign on their DEATH BED all of their saleable property and valuables over to JW.org???

In my 62 years in, flip flop flop flip , nu -lite, old lite, nu -lite, wow! The GB or Legal dept. behind them have devious minds. Who next to mark as easy pickin's ?

WT reasoning, Why not give those without hope, hope? Can't hurt and they will be ever so grateful to us with this new understanding (2014 style).

It means they were on the grass, it started to rain, lightning hit the tree, someone was chopping wood on the grass, and the lightning bolt went from the tree, into the ground, discharging into the 5 human beings, that were standing on the grass.

They had no warning.

I thought before reading that maybe they were in a boat in the middle of a lake when a storm came up, but no, they were in their garden.

I thought it was cute when they stated that the German grandmother's name was Oma. That is what a German Grandmother is called.

Hopefully, they will all be alright.

I wonder how they will spin this at the local KHall ...

How interesting. At my old KHall , walking through the second school aka the library, into the Elder's Meeting Room (that is what it said on the door) there was a quite huge table with big executive type chairs on rollers, said to have cost $300.00 each. They were very cushy on the bottom.

So they were just duplicating what they "saw" at Bethel?

JWDaughter . I have known TTATT for only 2 years 2 months. As a born-in to wake up at age 62 and realize it was all a lying fantasy dreamed up by a bunch of con men for their financial and material and warped personality needs... made me a bit sick. At the time I woke up, I had lots going on and had no time to really dwell, on any of it. My sister died last Fall. We were never supposed to go to school, with Armageddon being just around the corner. Now my only sister is gone, never to be seen again.

Since she died, I appreciate my life so much more. Life has gone on, the world did not stop. Armageddon is just a man made up scare tactic, that apparently is working on 7 million JW's, unfortunately for them.

I am in my garden, and sit and rest on my front porch. I am surrounded by natural beauty. Clipping roses, while overhead Bald Eagle's fly by. At night, the last few nights, the moon and stars and planets, swirled in passing clouds... is breath taking. I am having my life in paradise now, with no KHall's or Elder's telling me what to do and how to do it.

That I and you and everyone in time will die, sucks... BAD. That JW's are in a religious prison that sucks the life out of them and turns them into drones is unfair and cruel.

You and I were not born in third world country's so life is already better for us, than most. If I was born in a 3rd world country, I would most certainly be dead by now.

I get upset, even angry, it is okay, even normal, but I let it go. That I am going to die and have to say the final good bye to my most precious daughter, who is the most loving, kind and beautiful daughter I could ever ask for... breaks my heart.

Reading and writing on JWN helps me a lot. Going to Talk Therapy twice a month helps me a lot too.

Some children die as infants. That is not fair. We are alive. I have all of my body parts and they all work. I am thankful to be alive. That is enough.
